Complete 12" Lift System
ORD has assembled a line of complete lift
systems for the ’73-’87 ('91)
GM straight axle trucks using ORD designed parts like our Shackle Flip kit, greasable
HD shackles, crossover steering, shocks etc. for a truly complete suspension
system.
The often missed details like brakelines are even part of the kit,
literally everything you need except for installation elves is included.
40” tires fit without modifying fenders,
bigger tires will fit with trimming (and a 1" body lift always helps),
we have many customers running 44" tires with fender trimming.
We often get asked about prices for our
lift "kits" and the short answer is that we don't keep any kits boxed up
on the shelf. That's because we build a suspension system for your
truck that only includes the parts that you need, we don't make you buy
any extra stuff that you don't want from a "kit". Our suspension
systems are unlike any other you'll find, we have our shackle flip
instead of tall lift blocks,
we have steering for all of the trucks (including the 1 tons) and we
have exclusive extras like greasable bolts and sway bar disconnects.

Because the front springs are being
replaced the front u-bolts will need to be replaced. Choose the
u-bolt kit that matches your axle.

The lift in the rear is accomplished by a
shackle flip
and a new set of rear springs. This gives you the best ride
possible with no blocks. The 2.5" shackle flip is used with our 6"
Super Shackles to net 4" of rear lift (plus the springs net 10"), this
is because the stock length shackle can invert and flip forward with 6"
and taller rear springs. You'll need to choose the shackle flip
and rear springs that fit your truck:
Since you're replacing the rear springs
you'll need to replace the rear u-bolts as well.

For steering correction, the only way
that works well is crossover steering. If you're on a budget we
can get you steering correction that will make the truck driveable but
you'll more than likely end up with crossover steering and it's best to
spend money on the steering once and be done.
You'll need longer brake lines and our
braided stainless steel lines are a perfect fit! Our kit covers
the whole vehicle, both front lines and the one rear line.

It's not a matter of "if" but when your frame will crack out at the
steering box location, this kit is your best bet for preventing that if
it hasn't already happened. It's even common to see cracked frames
on 2WD trucks, years of use really add up in the area of the frame that
sees the hardest use:
