GM used 3R u-joints on it's 1/2 ton rear driveshafts starting in the
late 70's, this joint allows you to swap a 14 bolt into those trucks
without replacing the driveshaft. The 3R joint uses a 1-1/8" cap
and it's 2-9/16" from end of snap ring to end of snap ring, they use a
snap ring on the inside of the yoke (like an axle shaft) rather than on
the outside of the yoke like most driveshafts.
