Convertible K30 ORD Parts List
We are often asked "What parts should I use to build my truck?"
What better way to answer this question than to show a parts list on our personal rigs!
This is the run down for our shop truck "Convertible K30"
It is a 1980s K30, 4" Coilover Lift, 40" tires, 4.88 gears, L92 6.2, TH400, Magnum/Ford 205, Ford 78/79 Dana 60 front with ARB, 14 Bolt Full Float with ARB locker rear.
From $76.50
To $13,102.29
The Convertible K30 is much like a race car with a truck body. It has been on some iconic trails with the Ultimate Adventure. Overall it has amazing handling characteristics and awesome travel. Great on road as well as off road.
For suspension we are running our Coilover kit front and rear with our optional bypass shock package.
The engine and harness is a L92 package with the Tilden cam in it. It is also running the high clearance Tilden oil pan which allows us to use the small block engine crossmember for more up travel.
For a transmission we are running a built Jimmys 4x4 TH400 with a reverse valve body coupled to a Magnum NP205. This gives us all the gear ratios!
For axles we are running a '78-'79 Ford Dana 60 for the high pinion and a 14 bolt full floater in the rear. Sporting Yukon Chromoly goodies and ARB air lockers. Having selectable lockers front and rear makes turning a breeze and makes the drive to the trail head more enjoyable.
For tires we are running some Nitto 40" Trail Grapplers
No full hydro on this rig, we wanted the direct link to the steering for road travel. The PSC Hydro assist kit offers one finger steering! With our custom cylinder we get full lock to lock turning on the Dana 60.
We shortened the frame on the truck and added our own tube trail bed. This helps it be nimble in the trails! With the Tube Doors we have a great view of tires climbing obstacles
