Adapting the TH350
There are 3 versions of TH350 output shafts, all are 27 spline:
Output shaft sticks out ~7/8” from the back of the case: This is the most common version and is the output that came mated to either an NP203 or NP205 transfer case.
How to use with 203/205 doubler | Use factory TH350/NP203 adapter, very common |
How to use with Magnum underdrive system | New 1” thick adapter from ORD HERE |
How to use with NP205 alone | Use factory TH350/NP205 adapter HERE and drive sleeve HERE |
Output shaft sticks out ~2-1/2”: This one was used with NP208 transfer cases in the early 80’s.
How to use with 203/205 doubler | Drill/tap six bolt transfer case pattern into face of NP203, plug up stock holes and make a tab to hold down the idler shaft |
How to use with Magnum underdrive system | Magnum box bolts up as is, no changes |
How to use with NP205 alone | No option, output shaft has to be changed |
2WD TH350 output shafts are not useful for 4WD applications, the output shaft needs to be changed.
